Market Types Explained
Four main families cover almost everything in the Paripesa betting markets. What separates them is how they balance risk and reward.
1X2 and Double Chance
1X2 is the basic three-way market: home win (1), draw (X), away win (2). Double Chance folds two of those outcomes into one selection โ home or draw (1X), away or draw (2X), or either team to win (12).
Double Chance feels safer and is priced accordingly. Because you are covering two out of three outcomes, the odds are substantially shorter. Handicaps
A handicap adjusts the settlement condition by giving one side a notional advantage or disadvantage. A -1.5 handicap on the favourite means they must win by two or more goals for your bet to land. A +1.5 on the underdog means they can lose by one goal and your bet still pays out.

Over/Under Totals
Totals ask whether a match will finish above or below a stated number of goals, points, or games. “Over 2.5 goals” wins if the match sees three or more goals. Totals suit players who read a fixture’s overall shape better than predicting the exact winner. Like handicaps, totals usually sit outside of specific accumulator promotions, so check the terms before building a qualifying coupon.
Specials (Props)
Specials cover everything else โ corners, cards, first goalscorer, player shots, and method of victory. These are highly entertaining markets. Because they are less standardised, checking the specific Paripesa odds on these markets can sometimes reveal excellent value for sharp bettors.
Singles, Accumulators, and Systems
- Single: One selection standing alone.
- Accumulator: Combines several selections, multiplying the odds. Every leg must win for the bet to pay out.
- System: Covers multiple combinations and can still return a profit even when one selection loses.
In a system bet, you choose several selections and cover every combination of a given size. Pick three matches and back a “2/3 system”, and you are effectively placing three separate doubles: A+B, A+C, B+C. If two of your three matches land, you still get paid on one double. If all three land, all three doubles pay.
The trade-off is straightforward. A 2/3 system contains three doubles, so at a unit stake of 10 ZMW per combination, your total spend is 30 ZMW (compared to just 10 ZMW for a single treble accumulator). What it buys you is survival: one wrong leg destroys an accumulator, but it merely dents a system.

How Odds Formats Work
The Paripesa odds Zambia accounts display are decimal by default, which is the easiest format to calculate. Odds of 2.50 return 2.50 kwacha for every kwacha staked (stake included). So, a 100 ZMW bet returns 250 ZMW, with 150 ZMW of it being pure profit.
The genuinely useful skill for any bettor is converting decimal odds into implied probability. This is simply calculated as 1 divided by the decimal price.
