All Paripesa Payment Methods Compared
Before you login to your account to fund it, review the table below to choose the method that best suits your needs.
| Route | Minimum In | Minimum Out | Speed In | Typical Time Out | Worth Knowing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airtel Money | 20 ZMW | 100 ZMW | Minutes | Under 24 hours | Confirm the USSD prompt on your phone or the deposit stalls. |
| MTN Mobile Money | 20 ZMW | 100 ZMW | Minutes | Under 24 hours | Confirmation arrives securely by SMS. |
| Zamtel Kwacha | 20 ZMW | 100 ZMW | Minutes | Under 24 hours | Smaller network, but near-instant credit. |
| Visa / Mastercard | Issuer sets it | 100 ZMW | Usually immediate | Up to 72 hours | Some Zambian banks decline gambling merchants entirely. |
| Bank transfer | Bank sets it | 100 ZMW | 1 to 2 days | Up to 72 hours + bank clearing | Slowest route in, slowest route out. |
| Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT | Network dependent | 100 ZMW | Minutes to an hour | Varies by asset | Excluded from the Welcome Bonus match. |
The pattern is clear. The Paripesa deposit methods Zambia players actually use are the three mobile wallets. The rest exist for people who have a specific reason to avoid them.
Mobile Money: Why It Dominates Zambian Betting
Mobile money carries Zambian betting payments because it is the backbone of Zambian payments generally. Airtel holds roughly 48% of mobile subscribers, MTN roughly 35%, and state-owned Zamtel the remainder. Mobile money reaches people a traditional bank account never did.
Speed does the rest. Among the Paripesa deposit methods Zambia players can reach, the wallets are the fastest. They usually credit your betting balance within a minute or two, which is what makes live in-play betting workable at all. Median crediting in Zambia runs at 49 seconds, and 89% of transfers land inside five minutes.
The two large networks behave slightly differently at the moment of payment:
- Airtel Money asks you to confirm a USSD prompt on your handset โ miss it, and the deposit simply does not complete (this is the single most common reason a first deposit appears to fail).
- MTN sends a confirmation by SMS instead.
Safety Warning: Start every deposit strictly from the cashier inside your Paripesa account. Never send money manually to a phone number handed to you in a message, comment, or group chat. A deposit routed through our official cashier is traceable; a private wallet-to-wallet transfer is not.
Always keep the transaction ID from your confirmation message. If money leaves your wallet but does not appear on your betting balance, that reference is exactly what our support team needs to trace it instantly.
Cards and Bank Transfers
Visa and Mastercard both work on our platform, and card deposits are usually immediate. The complication sits on the issuing bank’s side rather than ours: some Zambian banks decline gambling merchant codes outright. A declined card looks identical to a failed deposit from your screen. If this happens, ask your bank for the decline reason rather than retrying repeatedly and risking a blocked card.
Bank transfer is the slowest route in both directions, adding the bank’s own clearing time on top of our processing. It suits larger, less frequent movements rather than topping up right before a match starts.
Crucial rule: Anti-money laundering laws require withdrawals to return to the method you funded with. Funding by card and then expecting a mobile wallet payout creates a mismatch that will trigger extra security checks and delay your money.
Cryptocurrency Deposits
Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT are fully supported. Crediting depends on the blockchain network and the confirmations required rather than on our platform, so it can take from a few minutes to an hour. The network fee is yours to cover. Sending coins on the wrong network is the one mistake here that is generally unrecoverable.
Important Bonus Rule: There is one consequence that catches people out. The qualifying deposit for our welcome bonus has to come through a fiat method. A crypto deposit funds the account perfectly but does not trigger the welcome match, with or without a promo code. If you intend to claim the offer after you register, ensure your first deposit is from a mobile wallet or a card.
Minimums, Speeds, and Betting Taxes (2026)
The Paripesa payment methods available in kwacha share one figure on the way in: the Paripesa minimum deposit is 20 ZMW across all three mobile wallets. The minimum withdrawal is higher, at 100 ZMW. Keep this in mind if you are testing the platform with small amounts โ you can deposit 20 ZMW, but you cannot withdraw until your balance reaches 100 ZMW.
Most withdrawals complete inside 24 hours once your account verification (KYC) is cleared, with 72 hours being the absolute outer limit. Mobile money is the fastest route out.
Understanding Local Betting Taxes (Effective Jan 1, 2026)
Three different things take money off a Zambian betting transaction, and they are worth keeping apart: your mobile operator’s own transfer charge, the mobile money transaction levy (covered below), and statutory betting taxes.
The betting taxes changed on 1 January 2026:
- A 5% betting levy now applies to deposits and withdrawals on gaming accounts under the Betting Levy Act No. 27 of 2025. This is collected automatically by us and remitted to the government.
- A 10% excise duty applies to all stakes.
- Good news: The old 15% withholding tax on winnings that older guides cite was completely removed from the same date.
The Mobile Money Transaction Levy (2026 Rates)
This is the cost almost no betting guide mentions, and for a Zambian player moving money weekly, it adds up. The levy is set by the Mobile Money Transaction Levy Act No. 25 of 2024, amended by Act No. 22 of 2025 with effect from 1 January 2026, which revised the rates upward. It is a fixed amount per transaction (not a percentage), paid by the sender to their mobile network.
| Amount you send (ZMW) | Levy in 2026 (ZMW) |
|---|---|
| Up to K150 | K0.32 |
| K150 to K300 | K0.40 |
| K300 to K500 | K0.80 |
| K500 to K1,000 | K2.00 |
| K1,000 to K3,000 | K4.00 |
| K3,000 to K5,000 | K7.50 |
| K5,000 to K10,000 | K8.00 |
| Above K10,000 | K10.00 |
Two features of this levy are worth understanding:
- It applies to person-to-person electronic-money transfers. Whether a cashier deposit is treated as such depends on the specific payment route your network uses. Always check your wallet statement for a separate levy line after a deposit.
- It is banded, not proportional. Sending K3,001 costs K7.50, whereas sending K3,000 costs K4.00. A transfer sitting just above a threshold pays for the whole higher band. Check the table before confirming your deposit amount.
